So delicious!! Hearty bear sized portions, tons of items to choose from off the menu, friendly service and cute bear decor! And the food is always consistently delicious.

Delicious food. Great service. 1st time at the Napa location. Togo. They got the order right and provided extra ketchup, tartar sauce and even included fresh lemon and vinegar for my fish n' chips. Excellent job!

Excellent food! Great portions! Friendly staff. Clean dining room. Clean tables. Clean restrooms

Good food, huge quantities for price . We spent 65 for breakfast of 4 n we were full all day . The server was good and chatty .

This store seems to have a lot of regulars. Customers walk in and the servers know their beverage of choice and entree! Great service, fair prices, and good food with decent portions! This is my second Black Bear Diner to review and it’s been consistent! I do have to say that the decor seems a bit tired and there was a musty smell in the dining area when I walked in. Other than that, it was a pretty nice experience!

Excellent portions and food. Great value for money. Warm and friendly service. Chicken fried steak is HUGE! I quite like the cabin looking decor they have going on. Would highly recommend you visit.

Black Bear Diner offers a unique, family-friendly dining experience centered around a comforting, bear-themed atmosphere. The restaurants are designed with a rustic, cabin-like feel, often featuring wood carvings of bears in various scenarios and murals depicting scenic landscapes. This creates a whimsical and welcoming environment that appeals to a wide range of customers. The menu focuses on hearty, classic American comfort food, with generous portion sizes that are a signature of the brand. You can find a wide array of options for breakfast (served all day), lunch, and dinner. Breakfast staples include pancakes, waffles, French toast, omelets, and breakfast meats. For lunch and dinner, they offer sandwiches, burgers, salads, and homestyle entrees like chicken fried steak, pot roast, and meatloaf. They also have a "Lil' Cubs" menu for children and indulgent desserts. While many appreciate the generous portions and the comforting nature of the food, some reviews mention that the quality can be inconsistent across different locations. Some diners find the food to be very satisfying and reminiscent of home-cooked meals, while others have experienced issues with food preparation or temperature. The service is generally described as friendly, contributing to the overall welcoming atmosphere. However, like any chain restaurant, experiences can vary depending on the specific location and staff. In summary, Black Bear Diner is known for its bear-themed decor, large portions of classic American dishes, and a casual, family-oriented environment. It's often considered a good spot for a hearty breakfast or a comforting meal, though food quality might vary.

20250523 Dine in for lunch and split the Southern Scramble with the biscuit on the side. Good food and service. We ordered online for curbside pickup. The restaurant is understaffed and do not answer the phone so no curbside. Potatoes were undercoked. The rest of our meal, Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak, was OK. Curbside pickup should not be an online option without staffing for it.
